Wet Pour and Graphics

What is Wet Pour?

Wet pour is a safety surfacing system made from rubber granules that are mixed and blended on site using specialist machinery. This process creates a smooth, uniform, and resilient texture. Once prepared, the material is poured and spread in place—often referred to as being “wet laid”—and installed to meet the rigorous requirements of BS EN 1177 safety standards.

Wet Pour Installation

Vatatek’s wet pour safety surfacing is laid over a solid base of non-fines concrete or MOT Type 1, depending on the depth required.

The top layer, made from EPDM rubber, comes in a wide range of colours including black, red, green, blue, beige, purple, eggshell, brown, and yellow. Flecked patterns can be created by combining black with other colours, and custom graphics can be added to enhance playground fun.

Thickness is carefully tailored beneath equipment to provide the correct impact absorbency, based on the Free Fall Height (FFH) of the equipment. Wet pour can be installed around complex playground layouts and uneven ground, offering a virtually maintenance-free solution that is both versatile and long-lasting.
